Facebook's New Privacy Tricks

Client Services Manager

A recent techcrunch article sheds light on Facebook's new and controversial 'App Permission Request Design'. It's no secret that many applications request access to a user's personal profile information. Facebook as of lately seems to be serving your identity up on a silver platter. A few examples include: removing the "Allow" and 'Don't Allow" options as seen in the screen shot below, switching to tiny gray font and removing the explanation about the "basic" information you're giving up, among several other design changes. With the company's stock value continuing to fall, I wonder what currency Facebook will begin dealing in next.
