Some people are master Google users. They know the various shortcuts and tricks that can help them find exactly what they are searching for faster. These people understand that Google is trying to make online search easier for the user, allowing them to find only the most relevant results. The large majority of Google users, however, aren't aware of the tips that can help reduce the time they spend searching for their favorite restaurant or local movie times.
To help all users, whether seasoned or novice Googlers, understand the diverse tools and tactics that can be used to search faster and easier, Google is offering "Power Searching with Google". Beginning September 24th, these free online courses will showcase searching techniques. The courses are all community-based and will show users how to most efficiently search to solve everyday problems. "Power Searching with Google" is a mix of six 50-minute classes with interactive activities and advice from search experts about how search works. These classes can be completed over a two-week period, and allow students to share what they have learned in a community forum. During the program, students can complete the course assessments and earn a certificate of completion. Whether an individual uses Google once a week, or 50 times a day, these online courses can help anyone find the information they need in the most efficient manner.
